News: 10 staff members of Awlo Media released from prison in Afar; trials are set for Four journalists

Addis Abeba, August 10/2021 – It was reported that the federal police fee has launched 10 Workers members of Awlo media yesterday by assure of their identification playing cards after 41 days of imprisonment within the Afar area. 

The ten workers members who had been launched yesterday embody Eight members of the editorial staff, a authorized adviser and a workers from the human sources division. One other 4 workers members stay in jail. 

Their lawyer Tadele G/medhin instructed Addis Commonplace, “A few of my purchasers had been launched after they introduced their ID playing cards to the federal police.” He additionally disclosed that journalists Abebe Bayu, Bekalu Alamrew, Fanuel Kinfu and Yayesew Shimeles stay behind bars.

The Ethiopian Human Rights Fee (EHRC) issued a statement discussing the arrest  “The Fee is gravely involved that, as of the time of  publication of this assertion [July 11, 2021], it’s but to see the stated courtroom order or go to the detainees and  that the detainees haven’t been granted visitation rights by their lawyer and/or their  households.” AS
